1. Valbona Valley National Park
Valbona is one of the most beautiful destinations you could visit in Albania. A real nature paradise. Think of beautiful surrounding mountains, dense forests that turn into a mix of red, orange and yellow during autumn, and a stunning waterfall waiting to be discovered.
Walking and hiking in nature are among the activities you can do there. And let’s not forget about experiencing the traditional Albanian hospitality (if you stay in local guesthouses) and the fresh traditional food for the soul.
2. Theth National Park
With a similar vibe to Valbona, Theth National Park is a must-visit during autumn. And it’s one of tourists’ favourite go-to destinations.
Located in the Albanian Alps the park turns into a postcard full of warm fall colours with the end of summer. Beautiful to watch, and fulfilling to experience. Theth is famous for its traditional stone houses, waterfalls, and the stunning Blue Eye. The park’s trails are perfect for hiking and exploring the rich flora and fauna.
3. Qafeshtamë Mount
Located near Krujë, Qafështame Mount is the gateway to autumn’s paradise. Its dense forests come alive with a symphony of colors during the golden autumn months. They create a breathtaking scene you won’t want to miss.

4. Gjirokastër
Gjirokastër, famous for its cobblestone streets and well-preserved Ottoman architecture, is one of tourists’ favourite destinations in Albania. And you guessed it, it’s also an ideal destination to visit during autumn.
Autumn enhances the beauty of this “Stone City” with a colourful note from the surrounding mountains. To get a full view of the city’s nature and enjoy the fresh air, have a coffee at Kërculla Resort, a 10-minute drive from the city.
5. Berat
Known as the “City of a Thousand Windows,” Berat’s old town with well-preserved Ottoman architecture is a must-visit in autumn. This season casts a warm glow on the city, and it highlights the beauty of its white-washed houses and stone-paved streets. Visitors can explore Berat Castle, a UNESCO site, and discover artisan shops and cosy cafes in the Old Town. They can also go on a walking tour with expert guides, or join a cooking class.
6. Shebenik-Jabllanica National Park
Shebenik-Jabllanica National Park in Elbasan is a must-visit autumn destination. As the leaves change, the park transforms into the perfect escape, where you can enjoy the nature at peace, or explore the surroundings.
7. Korçë
Famous especially as a winter destination, Korça, located in southeastern Albania, is known as the “City of Serenades”. The city hosts various cultural events in autumn, including music festivals and art exhibitions.
Visitors can explore the charming Old Bazaar, visit the National Museum of Medieval Art, and enjoy coffee at outdoor cafes while admiring the fall colours in surrounding parks.
8. Dardha and Voskopoja
These two villages are located a few minutes from Korça, and they make the perfect autumn and winter retreat spots.
They are famous for their traditional houses, cobblestone streets, and beautiful landscapes. In autumn, the surrounding forests turn into a colourful paradise, ideal for hiking and relaxing in nature.

9. Shkodra
Shkodra, one of the oldest cities in Albania, is a fantastic destination you will love. The city offers a mix of historical and natural attractions. 12. Divjaka-Karavasta National Park
Divjaka-Karavasta National Park is a coastal park known for its wetlands and the largest lagoon in Albania, Karavasta Lagoon. In autumn, the park’s diverse ecosystems come alive with migrating birds and colourful foliage. It’s a great spot for bird watching, especially the rare Dalmatian pelican.
