We know how frustrating it can be to find a peaceful beach, especially in the summer when the popular spots are packed. That’s why we checked the latest data from the European Environmental Authority (EEA) to find the best beaches in Albania with excellent – good water quality, without the crowds.
If you’re looking for clear waters, clean shores, and a relaxed atmosphere, this list is for you!
Divjakë

Located in Central Albania, Divjakë is a nice coastal spot that people often overlook. It’s part of Divjakë-Karavasta National Park and is perfect for quiet walks along the shore and birdwatching.
The beach is long and not too crowded, so you’ll have plenty of space to relax. The sand is soft and white, and the water is rated excellent for quality.
One of the best things about Divjakë is the Karavasta Lagoon, home to rare Dalmatian pelicans and other wildlife. There are wooden trails and viewing platforms, so you can take a walk and enjoy the view.

The lagoon has small wooden houses built on stilts, many of which are actually floating seafood restaurants. They serve fresh and delicious food, all while you sit above the water, enjoying the view.
Gjiri i Lalzit
Gjiri i Lalzit has become more popular in recent years, but you can still find quiet areas, especially if you go a little further from the busier sections. This bay in Northern Albania has soft sandy shores, which are great for relaxing, and there are also good seafood restaurants nearby. It does get popular during summer, but it’s not a tourist hotspot…at least not yet.

If you’re up for a little exploring, the Cape of Rodon is just a 51-minute drive away from Gjiri i Lalzit. This cape is a narrow strip of land stretching into the sea, with rugged cliffs, quiet beaches, and nice views.
The hiking trails here lead to some incredible viewpoints, and there’s even a small castle called Rodoni Castle, built by Skanderbeg in the 15th century. You can also find a hidden beach near the cape, which is usually empty even in peak season.
It’s also less commercialized, so bring some snacks and water if you plan to stay a while!

Himarë is one of Albania’s most famous beach destinations, but if you go beyond the popular spots like Livadhi and Spille, you’ll find small, quiet bays with incredible water quality. Himarë has a mix of sandy and pebble beaches, and they’re perfect for families, couples, and solo travelers who want to enjoy the Ionian coast without the heavy crowds.
One of the best hidden gems in the area is Gjiri i Filikurit, a stunning secluded bay that feels like a private island that you can only reach by boat or a short hike.
For those who love a more local experience, small beaches like Llaman Beach and Marachi Beach are also great alternatives.
