As someone who loves exploring new things (and at the same time hates falling into the monotony trap), I’m here to show you some super cool stuff you can do in Tirana, especially if you’re visiting for longer than just a few days.
And these suggestions don’t involve museums you should visit, restaurant recommendations, or the other “common” tourist attractions (you may find them on our website), but instead, some interesting activities not everyone knows about.
1. Tirana Escape Room
This is definitely one of the most interesting activities I’ve tried in Tirana.
Without giving away anything, the philosophy of the game is: suppose you are a group of secret agents sent to Albania for a special mission, which is to find the G452-1 file. This file is located in General K. J. Bunker’s office. However, to get there is not as simple as it might seem at first. You need to go through 2 other rooms filled with missions and secrets to get to the final room and find the file.
In order to make the most out of this experience, I would suggest going there with a group of friends. I went there with 2 friends (we booked on Instagram) and we had a lot of fun! Unfortunately, we failed the mission, but sometimes, it’s all about the experience, isn’t it? ^.^
The price was 1000 L (€9.77) per person.
Update: You can check/ask for prices on Instagram, as they have slightly changed them for the next game.
Note: You don’t need to know the Albanian’s history to play the game.
2. Alphazone Tirana
If you’re a gamer this is your dream spot. At ALPHA ZONE AL, you’ll find interactive virtual reality (VR) games where you can enjoy dozens of different games, earn points, and compete with players. You can play as a team of 2-5 players and move through various positions by choosing the games you want to play and the level of difficulty.
The place is structured into rooms, and prices are pretty affordable.
For 1 hour, a room for 10 people costs 2500 L (€24.43). For 6 people 1200 L (€11.73 ) and for 3 people 700 L (€6.84).
Ps. You can also choose your type of service for the room such as VR, Netflix and YouTube, PS5, etc.
3. Coffee Shops Where You Can Play Games
There are a few coffee shops in Tirana where you can play table games like Monopoly, cards, Jenga, puzzles and more.
For example, at Hana Corner Cafe, which is also one of my favourite spots in Tirana, you’ll find some interesting card games (like the one below), which make a great activity to play with your friends and get to know them better.

La Chateau is a spot I’ve discovered recently and it offers a wide variation of gaming like Monopoly, chess, Jenga, UNO, and puzzles. Keep in mind there is a small fee you have to pay for each game, which is 80 L (€0.78).

4. Join Fun Events
Hosting events has recently become a popular trend in Tirana. Such events might include painting on canvas, making bracelets, poetry/book clubs, yoga, pottery and so on. Now, if you’re a foreigner who doesn’t know Albanian, I wouldn’t suggest joining a book club, unless you want to make new friends and/or learn the language.
And if you’re an event lover like me, here are some of the pages I follow on Instagram that post activities that you might check out and book any if preferred:
- artyhost
- myhiphap
- tiranapotterystudio
- ceramics.monarchy
- almanart
Note: Some of these activities require a fee.
5. Open Air Tirana

How does cinema in nature sound to you?
Picture this: summer nights, comedy movies, snacks and… an open sky. It is truly a fun activity to consider and it’s opening up soon! (It is open only during the warmer season.)
The entry cost last year was around €3, however, the price of the snacks is a bit higher compared to those found in supermarkets (it’s not allowed to bring outside snacks though).
6. Galleries and Movies
If you’re into art, you might consider activities like visiting a gallery exhibition or watching movies at centres that host such events (like Destil, Tek Bunkeri etc). It’s a great way to add some variety to your day and feed your passion for art.
It’s worth noting that some movies are available in English or Italian. However, it’s better to ask in advance.
You can check this website to explore such events.
7. Picnic/Painting in Nature

This is another fun and budget-friendly activity you can do with your friends. The Grand Park of Tirana is a great location for picnics, but you can also consider the lake of Farka, Dajti Mountain, or even somewhere peaceful at the beach if you prefer the sea view.
The best time to have a picnic in my opinion is during April or May (even June if it’s not too hot). Last spring I and my friends organized a picnic & painting in nature activity (at the Grand Part of Tirana) and it was super fun.
Helpful suggestion: For this activity, you can find affordable tools like canvas, paint brushes etc. at one of the Euro1 shops located in Tirana.
8. Go Thrift-Shopping
If you love thrift shopping, you’re about to find some great stuff in Tirana. Check places like Tregu te Uzina Dinamo, Tregu te Kupola in Laprake, and Tregu i Selitës. And don’t forget to let us know in the comments below if you find anything cool!
Ps. Tregu (in Albanian) stands for “market”.
9. Paintball Zone
This is a super fun activity you can do with a group of friends or colleagues. The game is played on a field with several players in each group.
The types and objectives of the game vary but include capturing the flag, defending or attacking a specific point or zone, or finding valuable objects hidden in the game area. Paintball can be played by anyone, male, female, or even children under specific guidelines and accompanied by adults.
Check out their website for more details.
10. Book a Spin Class
Grab your lazy friends and make that WhatsApp plan come to life! Tirana now offers the most innovative spin class located near Arena Stadium called Sunride. Check out their cool website, where you can have a look at the featured pricing plans as well.
Optional activity ideas: Skating at Ring Centre, booking daily trips (like hiking in areas near Tirana, joining a cooking class) etc.
