The city of Durr\u00ebs comes alive in the final week of August with two overlapping cultural festivals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Folklore Festival (Aug 26\u201330)<\/strong>: Open-air performances in squares and streets, representing Albania\u2019s traditional music, costumes, and community spirit.

Durres Waves (Aug 24\u201328)<\/strong>: A five-day international music and dance event featuring folk ensembles, brass bands, choirs, and majorette teams from across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set in one of Albania\u2019s most legendary landmarks, Rozafa Castle, DUA Fest<\/a> turns Shkod\u00ebr into a cultural powerhouse for two nights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With an eclectic lineup of artists, modern stage setups, and the castle\u2019s epic views, this festival offers a one-of-a-kind open-air music experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After drawing over 25,000 fans last year, DansMusik Fest<\/a> is turning Vlora\u2019s Lungomare into a nonstop dance floor by the sea. Expect international DJs, huge crowds, and lights that light up the waterfront, this year\u2019s edition promises to be even bigger, louder, and more unforgettable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the shores of Lake Ohrid, the village of Lin hosts a festival<\/a> to celebrate its archaeological, historical, and cultural legacy. The festival is connected to identity and storytelling, with exhibitions, performances, and traditional food that aim to elevate Lin as a world-recognized cultural destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunwave in Vlora<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

August 2\u20133, 2025 \u2013 Vlora, Albania<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vlora\u2019s summer lineup kicks off strong with Sunwave<\/a>, a two-day festival set right along the scenic Lungomare, in the courtyard of the local Maritime School. But this isn\u2019t just about music. Sunwave brings together land, air, and water sports by day, and concerts plus groovy after-parties by night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This August, the National Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances is taking Albania\u2019s cultural heartbeat on the road.
