best agrotourisms in Albania

Agrotourism in Albania is one of the best ways to experience the country beyond cities and Strande. The local farming, seasonal food, and warm hospitality are unlike anywhere else and offer an authentic way to connect with the land and local culture.

From vineyards and countryside restauranter to working farms in the mountains, agrotourism and farms in Albania now make an important part of the country’s culture. Some are perfect for a simple, yet fulfilling weekend escape, while others invite you to explore deeper into the countryside, leaving you with a sense of well-being and nourishment after spending time among nature.

In this article, we’ve shortlisted some of the best agrotourisms in Albania, places that showcase what Albanian tourism does best: good food, nature, and a genuine sense of welcome.

Çiflig Family Agrotourism

Çiflig Family Agrotourism has been reimagined with a revised take on traditional Albanian cuisine.
Set Durrës, in a large, green outdoor space with a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, and a dedicated play area for children.

One lovely detail is the live byrek cooking station, where a local woman prepares the daily byrek fresh, right in front of guests.

The space feels cosy and welcoming, with several fireplaces throughout the property, including a more private area with its own fireplace for those looking for a quieter setting.

During weekends, live music is often featured. The menu is affordable (Food highlights: shepherd’s pie and trahana with meatballs), parking is spacious, and service is relaxed and welcoming. In summer, the agrotourism also offers a swimming pool, part of another reimagined outdoor area that will be fully revealed soon.

Çiflig produces its own house wine in three varieties: 100% Merlot, 100% Cabernet, and a blend of the two. They also make five types of homemade raki using grapes from local vineyards in the Ishëm area.

Their home-produced olive oil is served on every table, free of charge.

The core concept follows a farm-to-table approach: everything is fresh, local, and produced in-house whenever possible. Çiflig is also suitable for family events such as weddings, engagements, birthdays, and other celebrations, with customizable menus available.

Blerina Agritourism

Blerina Agritourism has this “little Tuscany” feeling, the kind of place where everything feels warm, earthy, and intentionally simple. It’s only a few-minute drive away from Tirana, and of those spots you instantly fall in love with, built around a simple idea: good food, fresh air, & a slower way of living.

Their boutique hotel features 11 rooms, all arranged around a small, stone-and-greenery courtyard that resembles a tiny countryside village. Every room is different, designed with natural materials, soft colors, and fireplaces that make it feel extra cosy, especially in the colder months.

Food is the heart of the whole experience here. Their restaurant, called ‘Toka’ (which stands for Earth, in Albanian), is truly farm-to-table, using ingredients grown right on their land, seasonal vegetables, herbs, homemade dairy, and fresh eggs.

The farm itself covers 10,000 m² and is home to cows, goats, sheep, chickens, and endless rows of plants and flowers. They practice regenerative agriculture, meaning everything is grown naturally and respectfully, no chemicals, just healthy soil and traditional techniques.

Families will also love the dedicated Kids Farm across the road. There’s space for little ones to play, draw, plant, learn, visit the animals, and enjoy food made especially for them. It’s designed to help children connect with nature in the sweetest way.

Bio Farm Gramsh

If you love the idea of waking up in the mountains, hearing nothing but birds and fresh air, Bio Farm Gramsh is one of those places that stays with you. It’s set right in the heart of Gramsh’s countryside, surrounded by pine trees and the stunning Devoll Valley.

The complex is very well organized, featuring 12 wooden cabins, 9 hotel rooms, and space for up to 85 guests. Everything is built with local materials like stone and wood, so it matches beautifully with the environment.

Food here is exactly what you’d expect from a true agrotourism: traditional dishes made from whatever the farm produces. They grow seasonal vegetables, make their own dairy, and source almost everything locally (around 80% of the menu).

Biofarm is also a real working farm! They raise around 700 sheep and goats, plus cows, horses, rabbits, and more. You can visit the animals, try horse riding, join farm walks, or simply wander through the fields.

Another interesting aspect of Biofarm Gramsh is the adventure side. They organize so many activities that you could stay for a week and still not do everything:

  • Horseback riding (group or private)
  • Farm and mountain guided tours
  • Camping trips (1–3 nights in the wild, fully supported by staff)
  • 4×4 off-road experiences
  • Visits to local attractions like Holtës Canyon, Sotira Waterfall, the Grabova villages, bunkers from the communist regime, cult sites, and even the famous Dushku Lily Lake at 1200 m.

Hiking lovers will be especially happy. The trails start from 800 m and go all the way up to 2,373 m, with distances from 5 km to 30 km. You can hike, camp, and explore landscapes that most people in Albania still haven’t seen.

Duka Winery & Vineyard

Duka Winery & Vineyard is one of those places that instantly evokes that familiar Italian feeling. Sunlit hills, quiet forests, a mirror-still lake, and rows of vines stretching toward the horizon.

Set on the Ishëm hills, just a short drive from Tirana, Durrës, and Lalzi Bay, Duka Winery feels worlds away without actually being far.

The winery began in 2004 with agronomist Enver Duka, who planted the first vines here and lived by a simple idea: if you’re looking for me, I’ll be in the vineyard.

And honestly, the place feels exactly like somewhere a winemaker would never want to leave…

The vineyards grow Merlot, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the local star: Shesh i Bardhë.

Everything is cultivated sustainably, and the landscape gives the wines their soft, warm character. You can taste the sun, the soil, and a little bit of the sea breeze that reaches the hills.

The restaurant, added later in 2018, is the perfect complement: traditional Albanian dishes served with a view of the vines and the lake. Fresh cheeses, seasonal plates, vegetables from their greenhouse, and that classic, simple Mediterranean cooking style that just makes sense with a glass of wine in hand.

What really makes Duka special is how you experience it. You can tour the vineyards, step into the cellar, join a tasting, then take a kayak or a small boat onto the lake. Wine tasting on the water is their signature experience, and it’s as dreamy as it sounds.

Agrotourism Kantina Kopliku

Kantina Kopliku Agrotourism is a lovely little escape in the north of Albania, just a short distance from the peaceful Lake of Shkodra. It’s the kind of place you visit when you want to slow down, enjoy good wine, and take in the calm of the surrounding nature.

Here, everything feels relaxed and unpretentious. You can taste quality local wines, especially the traditional Kallmet variety, while enjoying simple, authentic dishes prepared the way they’ve always been in the area.

The setting is quiet, green, and perfect for an easy afternoon spent with friends, family, or even just your own thoughts, if you prefer some solo time.

Of course, you won’t miss the warm hospitality, fresh local products, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home the moment you arrive. Whether you’re stopping by for a tasting or planning a longer visit, Kantina Kopliku offers a genuine rural experience that feels personal and memorable.

So, if you’re exploring northern Albania and looking for a place that combines nature, wine, and local flavors in a relaxed setting, this is definitely one worth adding to your list.

In the Heart of Agrotourism of Albania…

Agrotourism in Albania keeps growing, and what makes it special is how genuine it still feels. These places aren’t built for mass tourism; they’re rooted in family traditions, local food, and a real connection to the land.

Agrotourism offers a side of Albania that’s calm, welcoming, and definitely memorable.

If you enjoy discovering places like these, save this list for later, share it with friends visiting Albania, or use it as inspiration for your next weekend plan.
